This summer, I worked for a week at a camp called, The Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsburg, KY. Each week of the summer, the camp hosts children with a different health problem or developmental issue. The camp and staff are amazing, fostering a fun, non-medical environment, where kids can horseback ride, swim, boat, create, and eat with children that are similar to them. This is the Kosair team of residents and nurses that were at Camp CK for Autism/Down syndrome week. I learned a lot about antileptics this week!

My cousin, Kristen, visited me towards the end of summer and we got to go to a Louisville Bats game! I love spending time with Kris!

In August, I took a long weekend to travel to Durham, NC to visit Shaz. Shaz and I went to Wheaton together and walked the long pre-med road together; she is one of my best friends! It was so much fun to reconnect with her and her pup, Abigail. We also got to visit Matt and Kim Andresen, some other close Wheatie friends.

The weekend after my Durham trip, I had another weekend off and headed to Gram and Papa Barger's farm. There is nothing better than a weekend of respite on this Adams County farm with wonderful grandparents. Check out their amazing zucchini and pumpkin patch (only one of the impressive group that grew this year).

As mentioned in another post, I went to Trimble County's "Apple Festival." Sarah, one my small group friends, plays in a blue grass band and played on this little stage in Trimble County. We had a great time.

I am enjoying my church, Sojourn. I am starting to get more involved, helping out with Sunday morning logistics, as well as beginning to serve with Sojourn Kids, Sojourn's children's ministry. At our main campus, children are greeted by a wall bearing three of these toy murals, as they go to their classrooms. I think they are pretty awesome.

In September, I went back to Zionsville for my ten-year high school reunion. It is so hard to believe that it has already been TEN years! Unfortunately, I didn't get many photos of the weekend. You can find some of them in my facebook photos, as Sarah Church was one of the few who took some serious initiative in documenting the weekend. We enjoyed a Zville football game on Friday, followed by a trip to Steak 'N Shake afterward. On Saturday afternoon, we had a picnic in Lions Park and enjoyed catching up on everyone. It was particularly good to see Matt and Becky Johnson again and meet their baby girl, Louisa.
Saturday evening, I missed the reunion evening event in order to attend the wedding of my friends, David and Wendy Wilken. I enjoyed eating, catching up, and dancing with my Traders Point friends.

Earlier this month, I met up with Jeff and Meg for an afternoon/evening in Brown County. We hiked a trail, watched the sunset over some of Indiana's best landscapes, and enjoyed dinner in Nashville, IN. I love these friends!

I recently read a book called, Can You Drink the Cup? , by late priest, Henri Nouwen. I posted about it here. You are welcome to join this "One Boook One Month" blog and share your latest reads.
The fall is full with some more visitors and an upcoming trip to Boulder to visit the Razavi's. Happy fall!
